The Family Playground
In a remarkable renovation of a 4-bedroom condo originally conceived by acclaimed architect Toyo Ito, the design has been strategically enhanced to create a more functional and spacious living environment. The revised layout focuses on removing one bedroom to expand two others, optimizing every corner for additional storage. The heart of the home features a stunning partial double-volume living room designed as a multifunctional space that serves as both a gathering area for hosting guests and a study when the curtains are closed. A beautifully crafted mezzanine loft, developed in collaboration with Roger & Sons, acts as a cozy family area, showcasing Italian veneer and stained oak planks that harmonize with the overall decor.
This loft includes a net area for family movie nights, equipped with a projector, while the space below is cleverly arranged as a working area with a retractable table and a unique pocket design to discreetly hide the curtains. The living room boasts a flushed door adorned with a beautiful statement botanical mural by the talented artist, Geraldine from Ochre Home, while the kitchen features a hidden sliding glass window that offers flexibility as needed. Additionally, handcrafted tiles sourced from Italy have been elegantly installed in the bathroom and kitchen, ensuring a touch of sophistication. A consistent wood tone flows throughout the entire residence, encompassing the flooring, cabinetry, and doors.
The master bedroom has been notably enlarged to accommodate a larger wardrobe and a spacious bathroom, now featuring glass panel walls that enhance visibility and visually expand the room, allowing for a better appreciation of the beautiful views that the property offers. This thoughtful redesign combines elegance and utility, creating a warm and inviting home.
